Staff Feature: Ariel Kaylor, Sales Analyst & Outreach Manager

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with our newest staff member, Ariel, who is our Sales Analyst & Outreach Manager at SER. Take a look at her interview below!

How did you hear about SER?

I heard about SER through Bryan and Hannah Loomis. I have been in a job search for the last year, year and a half but wanted to make sure I found the right fit before I left what I had. Hannah sent me the job description, I interviewed a few times and then heard I got the job. It all happened so fast!

What is your current role and main responsibilities?

My official title is Sales Analyst and Outreach Manager. So a big part of my job is Sales and Marketing, making sure we hit our sales goal and generate leads. I will be helping Ethan with writing proposals, scheduling meetings, and follow ups. I will be making sure we have all the pieces we need from our clients.

Another piece of my job will be conference attendance and meeting new people at different companies to network. So a big part of my role will be traveling to those conferences.

Outside of work what are you passionate about? What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Anything with my friends is how I want to spend my time. I like spending time outdoors hiking, paddleboarding, walking. I love to eat good food and find a new restaurant…I am a foodie for sure. I love anything adventurous. I would love to go skydiving one day. I also love to travel. Concerts are one of my really big things. In 2023 I went to over 50 concerts and music festivals.

I am passionate about a lot of things which is tough cause it’s hard to narrow down, but anything that is diversity, equity, inclusion related, anything that is social justice related, anything like that I care a lot about and want to be involved in my local community. I really love diversity which is why I love to travel so much. I love being with people who are different than me. I think that is what life is supposed to be like so I try really hard within my circles to reflect that.

What are you most excited about in the future of your role and the company as a whole?

I think I am really excited to get to know the team better and build relationships. My prior role was pretty much fully remote so I am excited to go to in person conferences. I work in an office with Bryan and Hannah in Knoxville and that has been fun to have an office space to go to. I am also just really excited to grow in the position. We would love to have more than one sales person and I would love to at some point be a manager of people who come in as sales. I think I would really enjoy that. I am also excited to travel and meet new people in the industry and represent SER in that way.

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?

I have a cat who is 13 years old, I have a baby tooth that never came out, I have some crazy travel stories like I took 4 eleven year olds to Germany for 29 days by myself as a newly 21 year old as a senior in college and that was wild. So when I think anything is hard I just tell myself that if I could do that, I can do this hard thing.
