Webinar Recording: Statewide Versus Local Permitting for Utility-Scale Renewable Energy Development

Most states have chosen to permit utility-scale wind and solar projects on either a statewide basis or a local (typically township or county) basis. From a project development standpoint, it is helpful to compare the two in terms of cost, timeline efficiency, and other factors.

In this session, Dr. David Loomis will compare statewide versus local permitting from a development perspective, in order to determine which is better to get a project approved.

Eric Callisto, Partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, will speak on how the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin approves solar and wind projects.

Chris Kunkle, Senior Director of Government Affairs at Apex Clean Energy, will speak on the recent changes in Illinois to how solar and wind projects are permitted, specifically PA 102-1123.
